i've been a religious nero user for awhile now, but i want something that doesn't reset the folder to the top after a file is added, and make scroll back down to find my place it gets hella annoying after awhile... also the fact that they have "jukebox" cd's now instead of mp3 discs. i know some dvd players with mp3 capabilities that won't read them. why the hell would they do that?... so i need something else to use, thats capable of cd text, is quick, and reliable. i'm guessing Brad will have a good opinion on this? haha

Well I always check to see what's out there when I get annoyed with Nero, but the fact is that I haven't found anything better overall and I always come crawling back to Nero Ultra.

For instance, Acoustica MP3 CD Burner is a very nice prog, but.... after it instantly loads all the songs you added from a folder, it has to "cache" all the files from 0-100% which takes an unbelievable amount of time. Out of all the ones I have tried (like 15) Cheetah is probably the best other than Nero but like I said I always go back. Jet Audio 7 also has a very good burner in it.

Not exactly sure what you mean by "but i want something that doesn't reset the folder to the top after a file is added". I also don't get the "jukebox cd's" thing either. Just burn your songs as an "audio cd" and you are good to go on any player.

^^^ yup. best dvd authoring i've found thats simple to use

what i meant Brad is when i have the separate window of the file folder open to add to the compilation, i will add a song, the window will disappear momentarily while adding, then reappear, and go back the the top of the folder again. i view my files by details, so its one long vertical list. its a pain in the @ss...

and nero used to have the option to burn an mp3 disc. this is now changed to a jukebox cd. i have no problem with it really, just when i try to play it at friends houses and can't... no big deal.

i've tried acoustica and cheetah, but not recently. i might try out the latest roxio...

Oh I see now, I didn't catch that you said mp3. I rarely use that option but it is pretty cool for when you want to throw an azzload of songs on one cd.

Well what you need to do is uninstall 7 and go back to 6. I upped the installer with keygen to sendspace for you. If you have JV16 Power Tools, click on *Registry Manager* and then find anything that says Nero or Ahead in the list and check the boxes then click *Remove* at the bottom right. The reason is that Nero stores serials and details of the new version in your registry and sometimes this won't allow you to go back to a previous version. If you don't have it, JV16 + crack is below. I never go without it on any of my builds, it is a great program for getting rid of crap that is still on your comp even after you uninstall something.

well you didn't have to go and do all that for me now haha but thanks

btw, have you seen this latest plugin? i'd love to try it out but i don't have the right cd drive, or a blu-ray/hd dvd player, or blanks lol

also, out of randomness and curiosity, since you have a seemingly endless knowledge of a/v stuff, can you actually tell the difference between 1080i/p? i've checked up on it a little and there are a few sites that say you can't...

Nope I haven't seen that plug-in. But I could probably get it if you want. And that last question, geez lol that is a can of worms.... Lemme see if I can say this in plain english.

The resolution of the two is exactly the same, but the difference lies in how the pixels are scanned onto the screen. On a CRT (tube tv) you can notice a slight difference because on a 1080i signal (the i stands for interlaced) the pixels are placed onto the screen starting with the odd numbers of pixel lines followed by the positive lines as opposed to a 1080p (p stands for progressive scan) which places the pixels on the screen in a linear fashion (one after the other, in order). Placing the pixels in a linear fashion translates to a "smoother" picture. But on an LCD or Plasma screen, since by design they use progressive scanning, a 1080i source will be converted to be layed down in a linear fashion anyway, so there is little to no difference. Keep in mind that this scanning happens in 1/30 of a second which is faster than the eye can perceive.

Hope that makes sense.
