I took my copy of Late Nite Tip into WalMart and put it in their most powerful home stereo system.....guess what....it couldn't handle it...volume above 20-25 distorted like hell!

What brand was it? I'm not suprised that any Wally World brand couldn't handle it. What did you expect with a six and a half to eight inch driver?

Todays compact stereos don't deliver what they used to. More bling and less real power. I don't even think Wal mart carries "real" home stereo receivers, do they?

It's all about enviornment. Your car's system has much more to deal with inside its' cabin than a home stereo does in a store. Higher freq's react differently than lows to enviornment. Bass can travel through walls, seats, and doors, with relative ease. Why? You know why. Bass is felt and sound is heard. Anything absorbing or reflecting the higher freq's will have an affect on how it sounds. Thus why every car sounds different. You've heard it before, install is everything. So why does that cheap Walmart stereos' highs sound better than your system? Less interference/absorbtion. So to speak. IMO.
