Partsexpress.com. My first one was powered by a 500w bash plate amp. Did it's job well. Then as I quickly grew out of it, I wanted more!!! I paid $330 for the 1000wrms plate amp by Dayton powering the 15" SI MAG. It ROCKS!!!! Very clean, very intense! I couldn't be happier.

PS: It's the largest one they sell.

Lol. We wouldn't get very far BIGGS. Admin is like a hawk lately. And Yanks, I haven't even broken her in yet. I have to be careful with it being so close to my big screen. The MAG blew the plexi enclosure apart when I put some late night music to it. I should have used thicker plexi and drilled and screwed it together rather than using the adhesive. Oh well. Sucks. The plexi alone cost me $40. I've re assembled it and will try not to "disturb" the neighbors.

NOT!

It's where we all end up, eventually.

My tv: A 52" Mitsubishi HD1080 widescreen
My receiver: A 7year old Technics SA-AX540. 100w X 5
My cd player: 7 year old Technics SL-PD8 5 disc player
My surround: KLH (Not great, but not bad)
Dvd player: Phillips DVP642
Tape player: JVC dual deck (For the old stuff)
EQ: Optimus 10 band W/expander and bypass (Really old) Works great though.
Sub: Well, you know. 15" MAG powered by the 1000w Dayton plate amp. Seriously thumps the movies.

Alot of older pcs, but def gets the job done. I also have a dvd recorder and an additional 13" screen behind the bar when company's over, just for kicks.

If I ever need 3000+w for a HT driver I need psychiatric help. Also @ 6 grand I would expect more. I got 1000w @ 4ohm for $330. If I can get a hold of an 18" driver worthy of a HT setup, I might just be back to the drawing board. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Thanks James. I used 1/4". It wasn't structural, just a box elevated above the sub. The MAG just blew it apart. Next time I'll have to use at least 1/2". It is very expensive.

HEHEHE how about fitting 6 LMS 5400's into a cube and powering it using this?

http://statement.anthemav.com/HTML/Technology/P_Series/P_Series_Tech.html (The P2)

At 3 subs a channel, you could get down to like .16 ohms which would pull probably like 4000 watts a channel. You might want to get your hearing checked!

Play a 20hz tone with all the drivers running at Xmax! For a 30" box, it'd be pretty loud!

I was looking at the TC-5200 and even though it has like 5dB more efficiency and higher Xmax it would cost too much. Diminishing returns I guess.

You could obtain more box space with this I guess (1300w 8-ohm mono 20hz-20khz, ~$500). http://www.behringer.com/EP2500/index.cfm?lang=ENG

What about a havoc? Sorry, there's a lot to think about.

You see, the driver really isn't the issue. There are so many choices that it just comes down to aesthetics. It's the amp that is crucial. Without mortgaging the ranch, it's hard to find one above 1000w. I guess I could just use the amp I have pushing the Mag for my next sub. After all, 1000w in HT is nothing to turn your head on. I just don't want to waste a sub's potential.

Lol personally I'm looking to get a JBL 4645c and power it with something like that Behringer for 130+ dB in the upper 20s of hz. Maybe it's just because I don't know what a DIY sub might do.
