This is based on a true story of the civil war that took place in the Americas first all black regiment the 54th Massachusetts and the white officers lead by Col. Robert Gold Shaw, who was given command of leading the regiment at the age of 25 years old, and the conflicts between other white officers believing they will be no good as a fighting regiment, so wrong where they and the 54th fought gallantly with bravery too that will land them in the history books.

President Lincoln held this men bravery of colour for helping turn the tide of the civil war.

As a film it's not all that bad with fine performances though out the entire cast, Oscar winner for best supporting actor Denzel Washington and his character "Trip" is nicely played and brings me to tears, when watching his performance, right to the very end of the film.

With reactors historians and one stage setting towards the end of the film the assault on fort Wagner, and James Horners score is brilliantly done, along with an Oscar winning sound mix, cinema photography and film editing, this must buy...
