Hi,

I would like to split my component output from my HD cable box to my front projector (component input) for watching movies, sports, etc, but to my standard TV (composite or S-video) for day to day stuff. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Zot

I don't know which cable box that you have but most HD boxes would have one output each of DVI, component, composite, S-video and RF mod(coax). You don't have to split the signal. However, if you are talking about spliting the signal before the box. The answer is "it is possible", but you would still need another box for tuning.

I have a Samsung and ran a digital signal to it without a box. It split the signal into two sources so I could watch it in PIP so I don't think you need a box for tuning, you would just lose the "guide" option if you have digital. As for splitting the HD signal, I too am contemplating it as I no longer have the PIP when the HD is connected.
