I'm currently looking to purchase a 57" RPT and after checking various sites I can't decide between the Pioneer elite, Hitachi Ultravision or the Toshiba. Can anyone suggest something? I will have a satellite signal which will include some HD channels.

Good question. It would depend on the models you are thinking. These 3 brands make different price level products for a wide range of buyers. It would not be a good comparison between the low end of one to the high end of the other.
The projectors are probably made by the same company, so you need to choose from features each one offers. Features such as anti-reflection, remote control, menu system, convergence adjustment, connection (DVI, IEEE, etc.) and if you have the need to make your tv a part of your home network. My favorite is Hitachi's X500 but this is only my opinion.
