Need new stb SA8300HD. want to save recorded material to new box.

Logitech says it won't work with the Scientific Atlanta 8300HD provided by Comcast that I have that was manufactured in 2005. They say I need one built after 2008. Comcast will give me the new one, but wife doesn't want to lose all the recorded material on DVR. Some way to save shows and put them on the new box when i get it?
