I am using HDMI 1 from Dish Network to TV and HDMI 2 from TV to Toshiba D-R400 DVD/DVR. All things work perfectly except I cannot record from the TV. I have formatted the DVD-RW (4X) on the Toshiba, the record light comes on, the counter starts, when finished with my test, I allow one minute of recording time, the 'writing to disc' happens, I have the setting for auto finish activated, but I get nothe but a black sreen, no audio, no video. I try another setiing L1, L2 etc, etc and the disk starts recording againwith the next title or chapter, so I think something is happening. I've also tried an RCA cable from video out in the Toshiba to video in on the TV, nothing. I thought HDMI carried every thing and other cables aren't needed. Is my problem with my hook=ups or with my settings, or both perhaps? Can anyone please help?
