Samsung DLP screen discoloration

I have a 50" DLP Samsung (don't remember the model number offhand but I can post it later tonight if necessary).

After a recent move, I've noticed that a section of the screen is SLIGHTLY darker than the rest. The section starts about three inches in from the top-left corner, and goes diagonally down and ends up about an inch in from the bottom left corner.

The pixels are all in the right place, so I don't think the mirrors would have been bumped. They're just darker. Since it's along a diagonal, it almost looks like there may be some kind of internal film that is slowly pulling away from the screen.

Does anybody know what could cause this?

Hi Andrew

When it comes to the Samsung RPTV it is known that a collapsed light tunnel causes this darker image in a portion of the screen, basically the light passes through a series of optical filters guiding the light all the way into the screen. So it is most likely that one of the lenses may have collapsed when you moved the TV and a portion of the light beam isn't reaching the screen causing this darker image.

And this link shows you a schematic and a description of the light tunnel:

This link will give you a much better idea of the filters that are inside the light engine.

I hope this helps, Good Luck Andrew.
