My TV has sound but no picture. I think it's the lamp; however, when I pulled it out it does not look burnt. My question is: what does a burnt lamp look like? Does it look like a regular burnt light bulb?

Saad,
The problem in your case is 90% the lamp. The lamp in many cases doesn't "look bad". In 60% of the cases you can't tell whether it's bad or not. Your best diagnosis is to replace it and go from there. There is no real way to test the lamps as the UHP technology has a GAP in the sparking module that prevents us from testing them with a continuity test.

I recommend everyone to buy original Philips brand replacements... and my favorite supplier is Discount-Merchant.com

I would be careful with non-authorized distributors and those guys on ebay that sell an "OEM Compatible" or "OEM Replacement" lamp.. You want the original Philips brand replacement and you can find them at the above website for around $110.

Hope this helps.
