I have a Sony SLV-300P DVD/VHS recorder and am having problems with the VCR part. It plays tapes OK but when I record onto a tape and play it back I get a good picture but just static for sound. If I stop the tape and just use the TV, I get the same static until I either turn off the VCR or change the TV/VIDEO switch to TV. I have another identical Sony DVD/VHS and do not have these problems with it. Both units are set to channel 3.
