Hdmi question

I have a panasonic plasma with HDMI, a cable box with HDMI and an older receiver with 3 digital optical and one digital coax in other words no HDMI. Can I utilize the HDMI or not? If i can how? I did search on this and was unable to find anything...

You may need to set the audio output on the box to bitstream.
