I have a Sony Grand Wega KDF-46E2000 LCD HD. When my cable guy set up the cable box, he hooked it up with a HDMI hookup. However, I do have Monster brand HD Capable Component Cables. Which will give me a better picture?
Also, does anyone have any recomended settings for this TV?

Finally, I only have a relatively minimal knowledge about all things HD. Is there any good websites that include information so that I will better understand the technology so I can optimize my setup now and in the future? Thanks!

Well just try out both cables and see which you think is better. Thats the easy question.

You could use AVIA or Digital Video essentials to calibrate your display. There is an HD- version of DVE coming out FYI, but the others are still useful. That takes care of the settings question, unless you prefer to pay fro ISF certified calibration of your display.

There are many differnt places to learn about HD. Try a google search and see what happens.
