I purchased my set 18 months ago and have been as happy as could be until last week. I am seeing light blue areas in the corner of my screen as well as a few places on the set. I've read about 'burn-in' but seeing how nothing would be persistant in the corner of my screen I'm doubting it could be that. Additionally I spoke to a tech at Best-Buy who told me that this TV has problems and that the blue tint/blur in the corner would grow across half the screen. Of course Sony has no information on this reported error yet the Tech told me that upwards of 25% of these models have come back for similar repair/exchange. * and no, I foolishly didn't purchase the extended warrentee
So my questions are:
1.) Is this truely a problem that Sony is not fessing up to - or will take any responsibility for?
2.) Can the screen be replaced?
3.) If #2 is yes, what can I expect to pay so I'll have an idea and not get ripped off by some repair service as I have little knowledge of the technology, just know that I love the TV.
