Is it possible to record 2 different channels with 2 VCRs and 1 TV? Well actually we have already accomplished this but in a fairly odd manner and would like to know if there is a proper way of doing it.

As of right now, VCR 1 is receiving cable and RCA cables output to the TV. This VCR records any station, cable or TV, in perfect condition. VCR 2 however outputs to the TV through RCA cables but the input, a coaxial cable, is screwed completely into the TV and only the pin on the other end is in the VCR not allowing the outer contact to touch. Almost like attaching the power wire but not the ground wire. This VCR can now get regular TV channels but not cable and it can record those channels such as 4,5, and 11 but not very clear.

Am I missing something as to why it won't work when you screw the coaxial cable in all the way and any explanation to why it does work would be nice also. If no explanation can be given, a solution would still be much appreciated, thank you for your time and any help.

Split the incoming cable to the 2 VCRs.
