Posted on Wednesday, June 21, 2006 - 16:29 GMT I just got a Samsung LNS2641D 26" LCD HDTV. I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD box with HD-DVR included. Everything was fine with a component-cable connection. But when I switched to an [expensive!] HDMI connection last night, I could no longer watch non-HD channels. HD channels are fine, great in fact; but switching to a non-HD channel immediately gets me a 'no signal' error. Am I doing something wrong? Can this be corrected in the HD box setup menu? |

Posted on Friday, June 23, 2006 - 14:54 GMT In case anyone else has this problem...I did eventually solve it myself: The SA box More Settings menu lists the types of video output. I just unchecked 480 and everything suddenly worked, like magic. For newbies like me, this seems unnecessarily frustrating and obscure...both Samsung and SA should document this more clearly. |
