Hi.. I need some help connecting up a DVD recorder with a freeview box and old TV VCR combo. I've been trying for ages and getting very disheartened! I was told that I need a modulator because my VCR in my TV upsets the signal from the DVDR. So I bought one, but I cant get the system to work with or without it. I went to an electrical store and grilled the sales assistant who told me to plug the aerial into the freeview box, and connect this to my TV via a co-axial cable, then tune the TV to the freeview... but I cant even do that. He also said I could then connect by scart the 'out' on freeview to 'in' on DVDR, and the 'out' on DVDR to the one and only scart on the TV combo. With this arrangement, I can get a very very poor (freeview) picture but no sound which doesnt change by tuning. So what am I doing wrong???? Any ideas?
