I have cable, and i was wondering if i could use a splitter and connect a cable line to a cable modem box and get cable internet? Is that possible? Please lemme know.
The Modem will lock up like its online, but if the company is on its toes (more than likely they are) your modem has to be put into their system in order for it to go online. You will just keep getting a not online error
The modem needs to be provisioned by your cable company. As Damo stated, you will probably get three solids like it is online if there is no signal issue but depending on your company you will most likely be presented with a default registration type page to provision your modem, you cant get further then that.
