I just got a new Sony KFE42A10, which is a 42" LCD rear projection. It looks very nice except that in the dark room when it's turned off and if there is a light, I notice that in the up-middle screen, the color is quite shallow compared with other area which is pure black. Is this normal? Any reason for it? Thanks a lot.
I notice the same thing on my JVC. I think it is just ambient light reflecting off the lense and slighty lighting up the center area of the screen. Kind of like how when low light hits a magnifying glass. It is being focused mainly to the middle, but it isn't really bright enough to project very far.
