I am connecting an APEX AD-1118 DVD player to a GE 27GT618 television. I connected the DVD player to the TV using the supplied composite cable. The TV has composite inputs. When I press the INPUT button on the TV, the screen goes black and displays VIDEO 00. I get volume but no image. Why can't I get a picture using composite inputs?

what do i do if i have forgotten the parental code?
who would i contact, or is there a way to reset the system? help would be appreciated
TODD- Im sure you got this going by now but it is most likely either the wrong cables in the wrong jacks ( meaning on the DVD out you have RGB but on the tv maybe you werent as careful and have GRB or another likely scenario is haveing a few inputs to choose from. I sometimes run across someone who has the components hooked up correctly in INPUT I but their aduio going just below it to INPUTII. Their TV is on INPUTII because they can here it and expect to see a picture there.. but the video is playing on INPUTI.
