A couple of questions:

1. what is some of the best known progressive scan players for a reasonable price, plays burned movies, mp3's, etc....

2. what is the highest resolution for DVD's? 480i or 720i?

thanks

www.oppodigital.com

They sell a player under their own brand for around $200 that has had very positive reviews with the only player outperforming it being the Denon DVD-5910, which retails for about $5,000+. - Reinhart

hmm, looks like the oppo is top notch...

the specs say it plays burned dvds (dvd-r, dvd-rw)

i read a review saying that it couldn't though.

can anyone verify this?

? I have a Hitachi ultrascan HD ready TV with a progressive scan DVD player. when I first turn on my DVD player in PROGRESSIVE mode and play a movie it will play for 3 sec and then go black for 3 secs and so on and so on. Then when I mess around with the settings from interlace to progressive scan it seems to work...but I don't know if it is truley in displaying in progressive. I am using Monster componet cables and the componet hookup is selected on my DVD player.
