I have a Panasonic DMR E55 dvd recorder, but it seems to accept only Panasonic dvd's to record, I tried a few other brands (-R) but to no avail. Is there anyone here who knows what dvd's I can use other than the Panasonic ones? Also I can't watch them on my DVD player on my PC, why is that?
You need to finalize the discs to play them on anything other than the recorder. If you are trying to use 8x or 16x discs, you may need a firmware update. Taiyo Yuden and Prodisc are both excellent discs.
