Sony KDF-E42A10

I purchased this tv two weeks ago. It's my first HDTV so I'm not sure if this is normal or not. When I watch anything with a lot of white in the picture I notice some spots that are very much brighter than the rest. Almost looks like crystals. This wasn't the case with the floor model at Best Buy. Is this commmon with rear projection lcd's or does this sound like a defect? I can't get any straight answers out of Sony. I'm also noticing a lot of "active" pixelation (if that's the correct term) while watching everything from dvd's to hdtv cable.

The Crystal effect is normal. Pixelation would have to do with the source and not the TV itself.
