We moved to a property a couple hundred feet from a power line tower. Older Magnavox tv (10 yrs old?), hooked through cable box, now has such a loud buzzing I can't stand to watch tv anymore! The buzzing volume modulates with whatever is on tv--Adelphia cable menu, a scene in a commercial, etc. Haven't heard neighbors complain of having the problem. Help.
Darlene, Do you have a DVD player or VCR that you could disconnect the cable line for a test? Connect the VCR or DVD player to the TV and see if you have the buzzing sound without the CATV connected to your TV. If you have the buzzing sound with those devices connected it would indicate something wrong in your TV. If you don't have the buzzing through those devices call your cable provider back and have them come out and troubleshoot your cable.
