I recently purchased a Samsung 50inch DLP, the HD on the TV is incredible, I understand there wil be some loss in quality while watching regular TV through my Cablevision DVR will this be any different with an LCD TV or is there a way to improve it?

two options that I can think of,
1. Connect composite video or S-video and switch to that input when watching analog or digital channels
2. Split the signal before the STB, feed coaxial analog directly to the TV ant. input the other to the STB, switch to your ant. input to watch analog and watch digital and HD on component input
* if the analog pictures look bad directly to the ant. input, call your cable provider and have them come out and check your signal levels.

I have LCD with same loss of quality thru DVR on regular channels. I did #2 and solved problem. Just make sure you get a decent splitter.

Thanks, I think I will give it a try. Is there any particular type of splitter I should look for?
