Hitachi 60V500A Poor DSS picture

Can anyone tell me how I can get A better picture from my 60V500A I just purchased it 4/4/04. The DSS picture is unwatchable it's very grainy and screeny . If your watching a basketball game you can't even read the names on there jerseys. Anyone have any ideas??????

Use the component connections. It should help (the 3 individual video signals)

turn up the noise reduction and that will help a little. Also turn down the sharpness to about 28%.

Regular DSS, non HDTV will not look very good. I tried 4 differant DVD's on this TV and the only one I found that looked good was the Onkyo cp701. I really wanted the new Dennon 910 but it didn't have the picture quality of the onkyo.

I too use Directv, however I am not experiencing any grain. Make sure your are using RG6 cable from the dish direct to the receiver. If you have split the cable, make sure it is a splitter rated for Satellie (>1ghz). Component Video cables would definite help, but not all Directv receivers have component out.

DVI
get the Directv HD box and use the DVI cable
go ahead spend the money you have come to far to settle for SD

or get a TERK 55 anntena picks up local digital signal if you have the HD box
