Component vs. DVI

Kinda confused on the many things said about these connection inputs. I know that DVI is superior, but have also heard that unless you are watching HD, it will emphasize the flaws in analog and digital broadcast. Now seeing as I do have DirecTV with the HD package and there are only a few HD channels would I be better off with component inputs being used? Would that give a better picture on the non HD channels? I am asking because my system is built into the wall and pain to get to. If the ones who know say it should be done with component, then I will take the time.

Composite/S-video or plain old coaxial cables are best for viewing analog. Component vs DVI take your pick...I haven't noticed any significant difference between the two to say one's better than the other.

Me neither - I thought they both looked just as good. From RCA to either component or DVI, the difference was stark, however. I'd pick DVI as the cable is more compact.
