Too all those touting the demise of CRT technology:

Samsung is currently releasing CRT TVs well past 2006 as well as thin CRT TVs!! http://www.samsungsdi.co.kr/contents/promotion/vixlim/main.html

"Since SEDs apply the same light emission theory as CRTs, they provide dynamic color expression, a sharp picture, and faster videoresponse than LCDs and plasma display panels (PDPs). In addition, SEDs do not require electronic beam deflection, making possible screens of more than 40 inches in size that are only several centimeters thick".

Is there any credibility with fixed pixel fan-boys who claim CRT is a dead technology?

Flash in the pan!

New CRT technology might catch on and might not.

In their own words, "almost ready for practical application".

Many products are developed. Few survive if marketing investments are not quickly recovered.

CRT's suck!

uh Sansyng is already selling their thin profile CRTs and planning to release more. I think if and when these catch on it will be your $3000 DLP that ends up the flash in the pan. Weight is a non issue.

The Canon/Toshiba technology will MOST definately be the winner as those in the know realize CRT is still the picture to meet or beat.
