Projector - Cafe Application

I am currently doing research for a projector for a perhaps peculiar application.

Our church is setting up public activites in a cafe atmosphere vs. your typical "sancturary".

We want to show video (sattelite signal, dvd, etc.) in the cafe.

Now I have spent considerable time trying to research the best approach (lcd vs.dlp primarily). So much so that I'm a bit into info overload.

So, I am asking for some basic opinions/ suggestions regarding this situation.

What I think I know it that DLP is better for video applications. My primary concern at this point is best workable solution for best price (obviously for a new church startup budget is limited).

I read good reviews about low end dlp's such as the Infocus 4805, the Toshiba MT200, BenQPE5120, etc. My concern with this class is brightness as they are primarily home theater machines and we will not be able to control ambient light in the cafe to be dark home theater like. So does that rule out this level of machine?

Should I be looking at higher lumen DLPs or should I be looking at LCDs? I really need to keep the cost under $1300 or so.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Experience with specific models would also be helpful but I really need the overarching issue (type, lumens, features) settled im my mind.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.
