Hi, newbie here, I am all out of ideas so am begging for your help.

I got a DVD Recorder, it has:
VHF/UHF IN/OUT
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT
Audio/video outputs 1 and 2
Audio/video inputs 1 and 3
OPTICAL DIGITAL OUT

I am trying to connect to my TV (which has 2 RCA jacks and two SCART sockets) as well as a Digital Cable Box (from NTL), this has 2 SCART sockets)

I connected 1 SCART with a 3 prong RCA from the cable box to output 1 on the DVD recorder so that I can record the digital channels, and I connected 1 RCA from the DVD recorder to the RCA on the TV.

I've been at it for days and have had no luck, even when I only try and connect from the DVD player I only get sound but no picture from a running DVD. I am going bonkers!
The recorder I have is the Pioneer DVR-720-s. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it, I am not very skilled at these things.
thanks
harry
