I saw this TV in the store side by side with a Sony grand WEGA. It was nice, but the Sony still has a better picture IMO. But the PC connection on the Panasonic front panel is sweet! Why doesn't Sony like PC connections???

That was my biggest gripe about sony's too. I talked to a knowledgable salesman and he said that's the sony has always been.
I work at a BB that has this set on display. Honestly, I'm very unimpressed. I can easily see screen door effect in the picture and I don't naturally have an eye for it.
