How do i get into the service menu on my Toshiba 26HF84?????

while im loving it one thing bugs me when im playing games that have like bright scenes (morrowind for example) whenever you like look into the light it seems to make rest of scene darker (ground textures etc.) if u look like down away from the brightness the ground like lights back up.i know this didnt happen on my old s-video tv now im now running the xbox on component cables.i was wondering does anyone know what causes this or if this is the norm with hdtv's?
people are telling me the tv is using auto adjust setting for the contrast but theres no setting for this in the tv's menu hopefully there will be on in the service menu please help guys
