Burn in with widescreen in 4:3 mode

I just picked up a JVC AV-48WP30 widescreen, and I was wondering that if you watch t.v. in the 4:3 mode all the time, will that cause the sides to get burn in from the grey bars? Also, can anyone recommend a good calibration/repair service in the Kankakee, IL area?

Burn in really only happens when bright images stay still for a long time.

This I hope is your version of an April Fools joke.

Josh,
Concerning your CRT bigscreen, if the bars are gray, then there is a possibility of burn in. Some TV's have a setting somewhere in the setup where you can make the bars black. Another work around is to put it in wide (stretch) mode. Personally I do not like that setting since it distorts the picture, but it's better than the possible consequences.
