Hello, I've been reading some of the posts here and haven't had the patience to go through all of them to see if this has been discussed before (sorry if that's the case).
I just received my JVC HD-61Z575, and like the picture quality, but find that there are no details in dark parts of the image (ie, it looks black, instead of shades of dark grey).
I've noticed this with my set top box (component), and xbox (component). Admittedly, I haven't played with settings much, but I don't recall noticing such dark blacks when evaluating the TV in the store.
Does anyone have advice or comments?
Also, on a sort of related topic, I tested a Samsung DVD player with DVI out (with HDMI converter) as well as a Panasonic with HDMI out and noticed that on the sets in-store, that produced a ridiculously dark image (no details whatsoever in darks, much more pronounced than what I am talking about here). The component connection didn't suffer from this problem. I'm wondering what could be happening?
