Advice please

I just bought a Pansonic PT-50LC13. I bought it at CC for 2799. Anyway, I also bought the 2-year additional warranty. The sales people basically scare you into into it. I have 30 days to cancel the warranty for a full refund on it. The sales person said it covered bulbs and dead pixels. How big a concern is that with a new TV? The additional warranty was $299.

Is the additional warranty worth it?

TIA

don't cancel, I just got screwed on my Samsung. Bought it a couple of years back, passed on the warranty and shelled out $700 today. Buy the warranty!

my take on extended warranties. Example 3 year
warranty. you are betting that your tv will break down after your 1 yr manufact warr runs and before
the 3 yr warr expires. Why not pass on the warr and take that 500 or whatever amount you would have paid and put it in a future repair fund. If
your tv breaks down then you have the cash on hand
to fix it without worrying about warr limitations.
buying a warranty means you have paid for the repair whether you need it or not. Do you think
the retailer is pushing the warranty cause they
are concerned about you, umm no, they know the
statistics for tv's breaking down, 80% of consumers never claim their extended warr.
I got this info from the fine living channel.
