Will my older TV (1999) work with progressive scan dvd system?

I have a Toshiba Cf19H25 in great working order, I am considering the purchase of a memorex dvd progressive scan dvd player and I want to know if it will work with my current TV. There is only one video jack and one audio jack (both RCA)is this a problem? If it is can I find some sort of adapter to make the two work together or is my only hope to replace a prefectly good TV? Please advise.
You need a y cable for the audio to get both sides is all. The progressive scan won't work with that TV, but the player will.

I have a Samsung TX-P2734 T.V. and a Samsung HT-DM150 Home Theatre System. Just wondering if the progressive scan will work here. When i turn the progressive scan on, the t.v. screen splits in 2. Any suggestions?
