Samsung HDTV 1080i monitor BLOWN BULB

I have had this 55" projection TV for only a year and one of the bulbs blew (I heard a loud pop while watching) and now the picture is all fuzzy with a colored 'ghost' image at all times. My question is simply does this absolutely require a service call versus attempting replacement of the bulb myself (assuming thats what happened). Thanks for any insights.

I'm sure you will want to specify make and model for an accurate answer to your question, but I believe someone left a mousetrap in the back of your set.

That doesn't sound like a "blown bulb". I would think that if the bulb was blown you would not see very much at all onscreen since the bulb drives the projections system (at least in LCD and DLP sets) if it's a CRT based RPTV the they have no bulb.

Call for service...

I have the same problem. I have tried to do the perfect focus thing with no effect. Is there a motor that lines up the lenses? If so I think the one for the RED projector is DEAD. For mine at least.
