DVI/Component cables

Is it possible to have a DirecTV receiver connected to the TV by both DVI and Component connections, just using different inputs. Watching normal channels through the component connections and HDTV through DVI input would be the goal.

I'd like to know if the brand matters too. I see monster HDMI/DVI cables for $150 and I also see cables I can buy online for $20. Is there really that much of a difference (or even any difference for that matter).

Hey, brand does matter but most is the materials used to produce the cables. Carbon gas filled cables are the best. As long as the technology is the same, maaaaan forget the brand. Save bucks.
