I'm getting a pair of the JBL S38II "bookshelf" speakers (a bit big for bookshelf, I think)... Any recommendation for speaker stands that would work with these speakers ...Adjustable would be nice ... Thanks !!

Sonus makes good stands in a variety of sizes. You will find them at both Best Buy and Circuit City. Wood Technology from Crutchfield are a bit better in quality but not overly expensive. Either/or will work just fine.
