My apartment building is currently under construction and I expect to get it sometime next year.

Wanted to bounce some ideas and needed suggestions on Home Theater setups.

This is the plan of the house as provided by the developer. I will be undertaking modifications in this while the construction is in progress.

I was looking to do two set ups in in the house house.

The first in the Living area towards the entrance. Where I was planning on putting a tempered glass partition (with entrances on either side) between the sitting area and the rest of the area. The glass partition will serve as a screen (on a black vinyl pasted on) for a HD projector. Need suggestions for speaker set ups etc. The idea of using glass is that the TV can be reversed to serve the other side of the sitting area. Will need a multi room set up to address it. (Will settle for Stereo on the other side i.e. the side aaway from the sitting area)

The second is in the bedroom area on the left, where I plan to knock off the wall to the adjacent room and refashion it into a larger room (roughly parallel to the living area) and the screen (again a HD projector) will be on the wall closer to the bottom with a sitting area in the middle of the now larger room.

Again looking for suggestions for speaker set ups etc.

Finally, what is your opinion on the above ideas etc.

Of my current equipment only my PS3 and a 32 inch LCD (to be purchased next month) will get carried to the new apartment.

Hi sounds like you should hire someone like me for a consult,,
but I guess your gonna diy it oh well,,
pros are there for a reason.

wow thats a first for a bedroom
hd projector?
sounds like you have your mind made up.

will it be a fixed screen or electric?

now there are quite a few suggestions that I can offer for sound
know that multi room touch screens as opposed to just multiroom volume controls are mega money.
I like rave or niles systems.

But hometheater is more my forte then
can you tell me esthetics as to what you want speakers to look like.
bookshelves,inceiling,
floorstanders,inwalls?

What I would do here it goes.

Bedroom 5 inceiling or 3 front inwalls
vsi[ba] 575
with 2 rear inceiling speakers,,
boston acoustics vsi560 matched with a decent reciever with an axiom sub ep125 will do quite fine.

matched with a marantz nr1501 or sr5004 or denon 2311 or nad 747 or similiar quality,,
the last 3 can do your main living area more then adequately or move up in model.

For living room either with
2 rear inceiling speakers
paradigm sa30 and
paradigm studio 10 booksheleves on stands or 60's
as fronts with the 490 as center from paradigm
either the axiom ep 175 or what i have the ep500

speaker wire at least audioquest flex 16/4 with type 4
for the front 3 when you can.

its all ft4 inwall rated..
and secret to all my installs.
