I have a limited budget and am looking at the Sony Bravia HDZ278 ($250 CAD).

This is what I have:
TV - Viewsonic N3235w
In: VGA, HDMI (1 only) Composite, Component.
Out: Optical SPDIF

STB Motorola dct6416 (HD programing)
OUT: HDMI Component, digital coax, spdif.

Computer
Out: VGA and RCA right left.

Wii:: Composite or component.

I am looking at the Sony which has the following:

Out: hdmi, composite and video out (yellow)
IN: Audio (Red and White)

I will connect the Sony htiab to the tv with hdmi, but after that, I am not sure what to do to get the HD cable box to be surround. Wii could be surround but not necessary.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Listen to vince don't throw the little money you have away. Look for something on sale, just a reciever onkyo 506 or 606, then later get a pair of stereo speskers and build up to a 5.1 system over time.
