I want to buy a new reciever and I was wondering if anyone could suggest some good ones. What Im working with now is a old 80s Sharp reciever, set of Acoustic Response speakers with MTX audio subs in them (400 watt each), set of 1985 86 Bose 501 IV, Boston Acoustics 525 center channel, and optional Persidian bookshelf speakers.
But I would like to buy a new reciever because my Sharp can is only supposed to have four speakers hooked up to it. I would like to get a brand new stereo that is like 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound and is like a Sony or Onkyo brand nothing to expensive. Any suggestion would be great.

Tim,

I would suggest considering an Onkyo TX SR606. For the money you are not going to find a better receiver. Its future proof meaning that it supports any new technology that you will encounter. I have seen the price on this as low as $378.00 with free shipping.
