Jerry Rigging Cable through a VCR

Hi all,

I recently bought a "bargain" TV off of Craig's list. Here's my problem: The TV is stuck in Video mode. The TV has no remote and the remote sensor is broken (therefore, no chance of using a universal remote). If I hook up a VCR and run my cable into the VCR and then to the TV, will I be able to watch cable while the TV is stuck in video mode?

Thanks for your help,

Jimmy

You can not change the video mode manually with the hard buttons or are you trying to regain remote control capabilities?

Yes, if

1) You hook up the VCR's A/V line outputs (RCA yellow/white/red jacks) into the TV's similar line inputs.

2) Power up the VCR the same time as the TV.

By changing the channels on the VCR you will see those different channels on the TV. You must still change audio volume on the TV as usual.
