i own a pair of paradigm reference shelf speakers that have a peak input power of 100W. someone recently gave me an onkyo tx-sr304s receiver. it puts out 65 watts per channel. my question is this: can i run the paradigms on it and just not be able to listen to them in their full glory, or will it not work at all. any help would be greatly appreciated!
Andrew, speakers don't have power and this nominal rating of "100W" is merely a guideline for much amp to use with them. They would work with a 25 watt amp or a 300 watt amp, so hook up that Onkyo and enjoy.
