Hookup a dvd recorder with sat box that has only optical out for sound?

I have a question. My VS Xtremes analog audio out don't work only the optical. Any way I can hook up a panasonic dvd recorder through my Yamaha rxv-757 reciever to be able to record sound and picture? Please help.
