Receiver is a pioneer VSX-d704S. Great, Except I need digital 5.1 decoder. I was looking into a dvd player that has decoder. My PC is very new and has a good video card (FX 5700 256 MB DDR). Can I use PC as dvd player and just upgrade sound card to include a decoder or is that not possible. Any suggestions and advice would be great.

yes you can jus route the vidoe to your tv and then get a 5.1 support audio card such as a sounblaster audigy one or another or the live sound one then get 3 1/8 to rca adapter and then plugs thos into the corresponding plugs ont the reciever total cost sub 100 bucks
