I have my onkyo hts hooked up to my digital cable box via standard rca cables, there is no optical or coaxial output on the cable box. i get surround from the expected channless and all that but there is alot of background noise(its a loud buzz) and the audio is really quiet. The noise is pretty loud and distracting. this problem only happens to the cable. my dvd xbox and music all work perfectly. any advice please help!

Yes.......
1) Make sure the volume on the front of the cable box is all the way up. If that doesn't help, then

2) Replace the RCA cables with new ones.

Actually Mike that is not hard to do as some of these digital settings seem to spread analog sounds around, sometimes randomly, but sometimes effeciently. Some of the DSP programming actually works (some of the times). Then there are some receivers where they basically get the sound and spread it evenly without any particular attention to theme.
