Can you use a DVI-D cable with a DVI-I input on a card?

Hi guys hopefully a simple question.

I want to buy a cable to hook up my DVI-I nvidia 6800 card to my sony tv that has a DVI-D input.

Will a DVI-D to DVI-D cable work with this? Will i be able to put this D-cable into the DVD-I input of my card? Let me know, great forum btw!
