Hi, I'm pretty new to the whole home theater business but I'm looking for a new set of speakers (the ones I have are crap). I have a 75 Watt per channel receiver. I'm wondering If it is possible for me to use 50 Watt continuous / 200 Watt peak speakers for the center and surround speakers. Will this blow out the speakers? It's a little more expensive to get the 75 watt speakers and I'm on a tight budget.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think most of us here would suggest upgrading your subwoofer first, if your receiver will handle Dolby Digital and has bass management capabilities.

Yes, you can use the speakers for your receiver and you will not blow them out. You can stick with those for a while.
