I can't get my Surround Sound System to run for PS2 games?? It only works for DVDs.. I've been reading and discovered i need an optical cable? What does the cable do? And how do I install my Surround Sound properly to run for both the TV shows and the PS2. Btw, i want it to run for the PS3 in the future using component cables.. is this possible? Thanx!

You must have an optical cord running from the back of your PS2 and into an optical input on the back of your receiver. Optical cord is a digital audio cable. It doesn't do video, so you'll still need to run RCA wire (yellow) to your TV.

or better yet use an S-Video cable - dirt cheap for the PS2 and better picture than the composite (yellow) cable.
When the PS3 comes out you'll want to use a component cable for sure. PS2 doesn't support one yet.
